“These Boots”

I snapped the photo to actually plant succulents in a pair of boots. I wintered photo into photography my first year in our local show and it didn't sell so I decided to try pastels. My mother is an expert in parents and teaches art lessons in all mediums. I joined the class and even got a little one on one at home using pastels. Not my favorite medium because of the touch or feeling of the chalk. Yet, I persevered and, low and behold, I entered that in the show and received an Honorable Mention in Pastels. I knew I would not beat my mother. Ha ha She talked me into entering a different show in Plaquemine, Louisiana. I won 2nd place in the non-professional division. Even though I wasn't going to be a pastel girl, I did make this one worth scraping through!
