Art is not a competition. Artists are not athletes chasing trophies or gold medals. We cannot truly “beat” other creatives, because art is not objective — it is personal. What speaks deeply to one person may mean nothing to another, and that is the beauty of it. I believe creating to become “the best” is a waste of energy. Instead, I create to connect with the people who need what I make — because those people are out there somewhere. Create in your own way. There is no single right path. Focus on your own unique kind of magic. “When you buy something from an artist, you are buying more than an object. You are buying hundreds of hours of experimentation, years of frustration, moments of joy, and pieces of a person’s life poured into their craft.” I am a self-taught artist who has been drawing since childhood. Some of my earliest inspirations were Spider-Man, Voltron, Transformers, and comic books in general — influences that still shape my style and storytelling today. As a teenager, I spent countless winter days drawing for hours at a time, studying comic art and learning from the work of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles books and illustrations. By high school, my passion for art had grown so much that my portfolio strongly impacted my art instructor, and I was later invited into an intensive summer art program called Art Trek. During my final year there, I helped teach other students comic illustration techniques including anatomy, foreshortening, and dynamic poses. After high school, I continued creating my own comic projects while also developing skills in realistic pencil portraiture, eventually taking commission work for friends, family, and clients. Photography later became another major creative outlet for me — especially capturing nature, atmosphere, lighting, and the beauty hidden in everyday surroundings. I eventually worked with a small independent comic company called Area 613 Comics, helping co-create characters, visual designs, and story layouts while continuing to explore other mediums including Tombow brush markers, spray paint art, and mixed media experimentation. Today, I continue creating original artwork, photography, comics, and stories through Moore Creative Images. Thank you for visiting and supporting independent art. — Justin Moore Moore Creative Images
