Not My Muse

Abstract Portrait of a social media figure @rick_the_muse who is known for being a character reference for artists. This is my first and only portrait attempt to date. It was done as a favor for a fellow artist's online gallery theme show. I wasnt too happy or really willing to participate in this show because Portraits are not in my wheelhouse and well to be honest I didn't like the theme.(A muse is an inspiration, neither Rick or the multitude of artists who have drawn him served as an inspiration to me, then or ever and I did not like adding to this "phenomenon") But I did want to help out my friend. So in my lack of experience I leaned on the styles I do know. Out came a marble face, 3d mech styled beard, planet and galaxy background with a grid. At the end, I found success in my reluctant attempt. Goes to show that you can still be great at something you dont know how to do or really want to do. At the end I found myself as the inspiration for this piece, it exhibits much of what I can do.
