Abby and Friends

A 12 X 24 inch oil painting of my mare Abby and two other horses. The central focus is the intimate connection between the three horses. The foal is nestled between the two larger horses, highlighting a them of protection or familial bond. I used a warm range of chestnut and golden hues for the horses' coats, which contrast with the cool, ethereal blue of the atmospheric background. Fine brushwork is visible in the manes and around the eyes and muzzles, creating alifelike texture typical of modern equine realism.
